According 10. Development Plan of the Ministry of Development in Turkey, 28.1 percent of 15-29 age group is not in education nor employment. When this information is interpreted with the 2013 age group data of Turkish Statistical Institute, 19 million of 15-29 age group is not in education, employment or training.
Genç Hayat Foundation conducts the research of Silent and Invisible Youth-NEET to present the reasons of youth in the age group of 15-24 of not being in education, employment or training, and to offer solutions. 120 one-to-one interviews and 24 focus group discussions both with youth and their family members takes place in the research.
The research consists of a qualitative research, a quantitative research, and best practices research.
The project book consisting of the reports of the research will be published and a press conference will take place to promote the outcomes of the research. Awareness and advocacy campaigns will follow to address the situation of youth that is excluded from social life and not even shown in the statistics due to lacking of researches about them, and to build an analytical foundation to strengthen the social cohesion.
